With moving into our home only 10 days before Halloween, we had to put the packing on hold a few days to enjoy some of the festivities. We had the rainiest October on record this year in Seattle with only 5 days without rain. So when the forecast was 40% for afternoon shower. I decided to take advantage of the morning and headed to the pumpkin patch. The kids were dying to go, it is just down the street from our new place and every time we drove by they could see all the pumpkins! With our move, we were still getting things set up with Andrew's new school and he hadn't started yet, so he was able to join us.
We hit up the hayride first and all the kids had a blast!!
Kathryn loved the bounce pillow! This girl goes 100 miles a minute All.The.Time. so this was perfect for her!
Olivia loved the petting zoo and all the animals especially the cats roaming around. She would run up to all the goats, pigs and chickens and say... "Oh look!"
Andrew most definitely loved the corn box the very best. He's super sensitive to anything sensory, light, sound, touch etc. so this was right up his alley.

Pumpkin carving was so fun with these three! I love seeing my kids reactions to what's on the inside! Andrew wanted all the seeds out, but wanted the 'guts' left in....geesh kid! I just had to laugh! Olivia kept repeating her cute 'punkin! punkin!' over and over! And Kathryn was all about trying to eat the pieces we carved out! Stephen and I couldn't stop laughing at these three kiddos!
Andrew was bound and determined that he wanted to be a ghost this year. There wasn't much I could do to convince him otherwise. Stephen thought that this would be one of the easiest costumes ever. But it ended up being one of the hardest ones to figure out without him tripping over stuff. Thankfully I had found my sewing machine and stuff. So we whipped up a costume quick a few days before the festivities began. So we went easy with the girls and threw together witch costumes too! They turned out pretty adorable I'd have to say!
We got lots of use out of them. Andrew's school did an Autumnfest (a big Halloween party). They had trick or treating, games, a dance....a great way to start at a new school.
Then our ward did a trunk or treat, and then on Halloween the kids only had a 1/2 day of school, we had some new friends call us up and invite us over for a little friend party with a bunch of kids in our ward. Then we still had Halloween!!
We did our traditional Halloween dinner. Andrew got totally into it! I love 5 year olds!
The girls picked up on the whole trick or treating thing pretty fast and loved devouring the candy too!! I love Halloween, but this year I seemed to be Halloween-d out before the holiday even came! Maybe it was because I was exhausted with just having moved the week before.
