In January we took a Saturday and enjoyed the Forth Worth Stockyard Rodeo. We started off the morning with some awesome seats at a rodeo.
| Andrew and daddy just outside the rodeo arena.... and Stephen sporting his cowboy hat. |
Then after the rodeo we walked through and saw tons of horses, sheep, cows...you name it. People bring them in from all over to be auctioned off. We also tested out a few of the tractors.
We also tried to get Andrew dressed up in Cowboy gear to take a quick picture. I think the lady was a bit too forward and it scared Andrew quite a bit. This pic was taken right before the big upper lip came out and crocodile tears streamed down his face. Oh well, we had a fun time anyway.
One Sunday afternoon, Stephen's Aunt and Uncle took us with their dog on our first time ever armadillo hunting. They go every week to this same area at a nearby park. And without fail, their dog can sniff out armadillos. Some weeks they've seen 10+ armadillos We were only luck enough to get one. It was definitely more fun just having the adventure and Andrew enjoyed riding on Uncle Chuck's shoulders!
This boy is sooo determined to walk it's crazy and sometimes I don't always have the patience to walk with him ALL the time. The last month or so we've had some nice spring weather here and there. We've started to spend a lot more time outside. Andrew has loved going on walks outside.
He'll crawl over to the front door and climb up and start knocking....just another little way to let us know he wants to "go"!
Sometimes, when Andrew doesn't have his braces on and he pulls himself up onto his feet, he's not as stable as he thinks he is. He's gotten a few bumps and bruises on the head. The worst one was a few weeks ago on his ear. We are actually working on 'falling' in therapy. It's kind of funny, but he doesn't have the normal reflexes most kiddos have naturally to stick their hands out and such. It's a hard skill to learn. In the meantime, I'm sure we'll see more of these little goose aches on the head.
We celebrated my birthday last week too. I felt very loved and had a wonderful day! Went to dinner with family, then to a little birthday party and after a little GNO with some friends to the movies. It was a wonderful day!
Life is sure treating us good and keeping us busy! We love it though and wouldn't have it any other way!
