One Year Ago Today

We made it to Dallas and yep....just trying to get used to all the Texas critters and the heat. Haven't had much time to sit at my computer lately with the craziness of the move. I have lots I want to write about with our last few weeks in Chicago and our adventures on the road to get here, but those posts will have to wait. We got our internet hooked up and with all the unpacking, I wanted to find some time to write today about something a little closer to my heart.

Today, it has been 365 days since we last hugged and kissed our little boy. Instead of counting weeks and months, we will now be counting the years. I know our Ethan is near and has been very involved with our lives as a family this past year. I am so grateful for the experiences I have had where he has been a comfort to me. Just little reminders of how close heaven really is. I miss him every single day more than words can express, but every day is one day closer to when we get to see him again.

I'm so grateful my family could go and visit over the Memorial Day weekend and that my sweet sister snapped some pictures. Wish we lived closer....Thank you Allison!

This past conference I remember listening to Elder Eyring talk about different mountains we each have to climb throughout our life. I read the wonderful talk again after church yesterday and I am sure grateful for inspired leaders. His words are a comfort and give me much hope. They certainly touched my heart, as I continue on the life long journey of learning from this experience with my boys. I sure needed those reminders.

I don't think I ever shared this video that Stephen put together last year for the funeral. We've watched it many times this past year especially when we miss our Ethan and I wanted to share it with everyone today.  We were only able to spend 10 weeks with him, which makes me incredibly grateful for every picture of that little guy. Hope you enjoy!

Oh and a big Happy Birthday to my Mom! Love you so much!

I'm so glad that you made it safe to Texax - good luck with the bugs!
Thanks for sharing that video of Ethan - it is beautiful! You are "climbing a mountain" that very few parents ever will. Your strength is amazing! You are amazing!

I know y'all are right next door, but I'm going to post anyway. Thank you so much for sharing the video! I just can't imagine how hard it must be. I've said it before, but I do feel that mom went to be there for Ethan. That's not much of a comfort probably. Peace be with y'all.
