So fun to have my parents come into town for a few weeks! They were a wonderful help while Andrew was in so much therapy and the kids just loved having grandma and grandpa stay with us. After the first day, Kathryn started saying " bumpa" for grandpa and became best pals with grandpa.
We had a wonderful visit and decided to take a little weekend getaway to explore Savannah, Georgia. It was great and gave me a wonderful tast of the south. We ate in the Prate House. One of the oldest houses in Georgia use to be a bar, where drunken sailors would be kidnapped and taken to sea. Pretty fun. Except something didn't agree with Kathryn's tummy right before we walked in and she threw up. She acted just fine, so we went ahead and sat down (thought it might be car sickness from the drive) but then it was hard to keep her from eating stuff. So we weren't able to stay long and she threw up one more time after we left.
Thankfully she was just fine after that for the rest of the trip. The next day we took a trolley tour of the city and it was definitely the best way to see the beautiful city all in one morning!!
The buildings were breathtaking, the flowers were gorgeous and I've never felt more in the south then visiting Savannah.
We found some fun shops where a jewelry maker made the girls some bracelets for free and we loved walking along the waterfront. We grabbed a quick bite of lunch then headed to out to Tybee Island.
We mostly got our feet wet and played in the sand, but the kids had a blast and could have stayed there all day!
We loved visiting Savannah and loved having grandma and grandpa come for a visit!
